The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Palanga is a red-brick neo-Gothic church built in 1907 according to architect Karl Eduard Strandmann's design. The church stands in the center of the Palanga resort and is one of the tallest buildings in the city. Its tower is visible from afar and serves as a landmark for both residents and vacationers. The interior features Gothic vaults, colorful stained glass windows, and wooden altars. In summer, the church receives especially many visitors – vacationers and tourists from all over Lithuania. The church is an active parish with regular services in Lithuanian and English.
