Dubysa Regional Park

The park protects one of the most beautiful river valleys in Lithuania – the Dubysa. A popular kayaking destination with steep slopes and hillforts.

Dubysa Regional Park, established in 1992, encompasses one of the most beautiful river valleys in Lithuania. The Dubysa flows through a deep valley up to 40 m deep with steep slopes that bloom with wildflowers in spring. The river is the most popular kayaking route in western Lithuania – the 110 km course runs from Bubiai to the confluence with the Nemunas. The park contains several hillforts, including Biliūnai and Padubysis. Nearby are the towns of Betygala and Ariogala with rich history. Birdlife is abundant – kingfishers, black storks, and short-toed eagles breed here.
