The museum administers several branches: the Vilnius Picture Gallery, the Museum of Applied Arts and Design, the Palanga Amber Museum, and others. The collection covers painting, sculpture, graphics, applied art, numismatics, and photography. The museum actively conducts scholarly, restoration, and educational activities, and organizes international exhibitions.
