Grutas Park

A unique park-museum near Druskininkai, exhibiting Soviet-era sculptures and propaganda artwork. Known as "Stalin World" – it is a distinctive open-air Soviet exhibition.

Grutas Park is a unique open-air museum, founded in 2001 on the initiative of entrepreneur Viliumas Malinauskas near Druskininkai. The park displays Soviet-era sculptures – monuments of Lenin, Stalin, Dzerzhinsky, and other communist figures that were removed from Lithuanian city squares after the restoration of independence. The exhibition also encompasses Soviet-period propaganda posters, ideological paraphernalia, and everyday life exhibits. The park is enclosed by a fence with guard towers imitating a camp environment. It is a provocative place encouraging reflection on the legacy of Soviet occupation and totalitarian ideology. The park attracts great tourist interest and has become a visitor attraction of the Druskininkai region.
