Elektrenai Reservoir Beach
A beach on the Elektrėnai Reservoir – the largest artificial body of water in Lithuania. Conveniently accessible from Vilnius.
Elektrėnai Reservoir Beach is located on the largest artificial body of water in Lithuania (1,260 ha). The reservoir was created in 1962 for cooling the Elektrėnai Power Plant. The beach is sandy and well-maintained, popular among Vilnius residents as the nearest large body of water (about 50 km). In summer, visitors can swim, sail yachts, and paddle kayaks. The beach has a children's playground and sports equipment rental. Elektrėnai is a young industrial town, but the reservoir has become a true recreation oasis.
