Observation Towers
Ventes Ragas Observation Tower
Observation tower on Ventes Ragas cape – a bird ringing station and panorama of the Curonian Lagoon.
Ventes Ragas Observation Tower stands on a cape jutting into the Curonian Lagoon – one of the most unique natural places in Lithuania. One of the oldest bird ringing stations in Europe operates here, established in 1929. Every year millions of migrating birds fly past Ventes Ragas. From the 11-meter tower and lighthouse, a wide panorama of the Curonian Lagoon unfolds. Nearby is a historic 19th-century lighthouse. Ventes Ragas is popular among ornithologists, photographers, and nature lovers. It is one of the best places in Lithuania to observe bird migration.
